Bharatnatyam |
|
The performance closes either with abhinaya or a shloka or a verse according to the tradition. The dancer does the Namaskar and pays her gratitude to the audience, Guru, musicians, Earth and God. She prays for everybody's well being and success at the end of her performance. A bharatnatyam recital lasts for about two and half to three hours and hence the main purpose of Mangalam is to show that even after the strenuous dance, she is as fresh as she was in the beginning.
